Why must Oregon doctors follow laws and guidelines when OHSU’s doctors don’t?
Just reviewed the medical records of a patient who has been seen at multiple clinics within the OHSU group in Portland. There are three pain agreements dating 2013, 2015, and 2017. Guess what? NONE of them are signed by the patient, any provider, or any witnesses. NONE of them! Guess what too? The CDC Guidelines came out in 2016 and have created a big stir across the country for most doctors. Many places changed their agreements or incorporated other items into their monitoring practices. Yet OHSU could not even update their “little” pain agreement of just 12 very short paragraphs! NO Material Risk Notices ever done either! Wow! Other practitioners get sanctioned for less, yet OHSU “specialists” get protection from discipline and lawsuits! How convenient!
